Three ways to wear boho
Pick the detail that suits you most.

You like embroidery, pieces with movement and woven bags, but when you put them together the result feels more festival than everyday life. Or maybe your closet is full of black and you think boho only works with printed dresses in brown tones.
Bohemian style for women is built on texture, relaxed silhouettes and decorative details that add personality. You can wear it with a black set, olive green trousers or a long dress in apricot. What changes the reading is the combination: how much movement the clothes have, which detail stands out and what you pair it with.
In this guide we take the Giza’s Boutique Bohemian aesthetic into three of Carmen’s looks, ready to adapt to lunch outdoors, a walk or an afternoon in the city.
Bohemian, boho chic and festival styling: what changes?
To choose clearly, think about these three ways of combining pieces. The lines between them are flexible; treat them as orientation, not rules you have to follow.
| Approach | What stands out | How to wear it |
|---|---|---|
| Bohemian | Texture, embroidery, a mix of details and silhouettes with movement | An embroidered set with a woven bag and flat sandals |
| Boho chic | Those same elements, with a more contained selection and careful finishes | One lead piece, simple accessories and clear proportions |
| Festival | A more theatrical combination: several statement accessories, layers, shine or fringe at once | It can work in that setting; for everyday, keep only the elements you want |
If you want boho chic that’s easy to repeat, start with one lead detail and two quiet supporting pieces. For example: embroidery as the focus, a woven bag as texture and brown sandals as the color link. You don’t also need a hat, a decorated belt and several bracelets.
How does a woman with bohemian style dress?
She tends to pick pieces that let her move, surfaces with interest and less rigid combinations. That can mean wide trousers, embroidered tops, hems with flow or woven accessories. It doesn’t require a particular age, body type or personality.
The useful question is which part of that aesthetic you want to wear. If details appeal to you, start with embroidery. If you prefer plain clothes, try the width of wide-leg trousers and an earth tone. If you already wear black or unprinted pieces, work on the accessories first.
You can place your preferences within our guide to the six Giza’s Boutique aesthetics. One wardrobe can take in elements of Bohemian, Minimal or Elegant depending on the occasion.
Four keys to choosing bohemian clothing with intention
1. Texture: look for contrast between surfaces
A woven bag next to a plain fabric adds interest without another print. You can also pair an embroidered piece with plainly finished accessories so the detail reads better.
How a texture looks doesn’t confirm what it’s made of. Before you buy, check the product page: a rustic-looking surface isn’t necessarily linen, and a woven bag isn’t necessarily natural fiber.
2. Movement: check where the volume sits
The flow of a top or the width of trousers can create a relaxed feel. For them to work together, look at where the top half ends and how much room it leaves around the waist.
Test it walking and sitting. The trouser hem should let you move without stepping on it, and the top should fall back into place without constant adjusting.
3. Embroidery: give the detail room
Small motifs and decorative bands can organize an outfit visually. If they appear on both the top and the trousers, start with an unprinted bag and simple shoes.
Embroidery is a design detail; on its own it doesn’t prove a piece is handmade. To judge the finish, look at the product close-ups and look for specific information about how it’s made.
4. Earth tones: use them as the link
Sand, cream, camel, terracotta, chocolate and olive green give you a base that’s easy to combine textures on. You can use them throughout the outfit or only in the bag and shoes.
Black and white have a place too. A black base with pale embroidery and tan accessories can feel bohemian without a brown print.

With cream and tan. It is the base of the Noir set.
More than a closed list, what helps is a palette you can repeat. These three combinations work as a starting point:
| Palette | Visual feel | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Black + cream + tan | Defined contrast with a warm finish | The Noir set, a woven bag and brown sandals |
| Olive green + cream + chocolate | An earthy base with one layer of pale texture | The embroidered trousers in Army Green, a white crochet top and a brown shoulder bag |
| Apricot + cream + camel | A warm, luminous version | The Alma dress with crochet trim and a woven bag |
If you like other colors, bring in one that talks to these bases. You don’t have to change your whole palette to try the aesthetic.
black can be bohemian too
Carmen’s formula: embroidered black set + two fine gold chains + tan woven bag + flat sandals.
The Noir Embroidered Top and Pants Set pairs a sleeveless top with matching trousers and embroidered details. The pale motifs on black and the decorative bands at the hems give the set its visual identity.
The woven bag introduces a different surface, while the tan accessories soften the contrast. Two fine chains of different lengths add a quiet layer near the face; check that the pendants don’t get lost among the motifs on the top.
What makes the look work: the embroidery holds most of the detail. The bag and sandals go along without adding another pattern. You don’t need fringe for the combination to read as bohemian.
Before you pick a size: check the bust, the hip and the trouser length. The product page describes the fabric as non-stretch, so compare the measurements against a similar piece that already fits you well.
For a simpler version, wear the top with plain trousers you already own. You can also wear the embroidered trousers with an unprinted tee and keep the sandals.
olive green and crochet for warm days
Carmen’s formula: olive green trousers with side embroidery + open crochet top over a camisole + brown accessories.
The Embroidered Side-Stripe Boho Wide-Leg Pants sets the base. They’re wide-leg trousers with a fluid drape; in the Army Green option, an embroidered band runs down the outer seam of each leg, so the detail reads vertically and doesn’t compete with the top half.
Over it goes the Luna White Crochet Boho Top: open-knit white crochet, short sleeves and scalloped edges. The product page describes it as a light layering piece to wear over a tee or a swimsuit, and it works the same way here, open over a cream camisole.
Brown sandals and a soft shoulder bag keep the outfit relaxed. One fine bracelet is enough as an accent: the crochet already brings plenty of texture near the face, so you can leave the neckline bare.
Warm-weather formula: wide trousers with a clear hem + one open-knit layer + comfortable sandals + a light bag to carry. If the air conditioning makes you want more cover, swap the crochet for an open shirt with contained volume.
A wide cut can help you move, but it doesn’t guarantee a fabric will feel cool. The product pages list 100% polyester for the trousers and 100% cotton for the top, both non-stretch: weigh the thickness too, and how you feel in each fabric in your climate.
Check the proportion: the crochet ends near the hip, so look at where it falls against the waist of the trousers and adjust the camisole if more of it shows than you want. Make sure the hem doesn’t pool over the sandals.
one piece with texture for daytime
Carmen’s formula: long apricot dress + compact woven bag + simple sandals + natural makeup.
The Alma Crochet-Trim Boho Maxi Dress solves the look in a single piece. In the product photos, the solid color is paired with cream crochet panels at the neckline and hem, finished with small tassels. It comes in Apricot and white, from size S to 3XL.
A solid color doesn’t make a piece bohemian on its own. Here it’s the crochet trim, the tassels and the loose fall of the dress, with no marked waist. It’s a styling interpretation you can adjust to your taste.
For Carmen we’d suggest a compact woven bag, brown sandals with simple straps and small hoops. The natural makeup keeps the expression everyday; it isn’t a requirement for wearing boho.
Daytime formula: one long piece with texture + one woven accessory + comfortable shoes. If you need cover indoors with air conditioning, try an open shirt with contained volume and keep the bag as the main detail. For a workplace, adapt the combination to its dress code.
Check the finish: look at the hem with your shoes on. The crochet and tassels should sit clear of the floor. The product page describes the fabric as 100% polyester, unlined and non-stretch, so compare the length and the bust against a piece that already fits you well.
Choose the look based on what you already like to wear
| If you want… | Start with… | Keep simple… |
|---|---|---|
| Embroidery and visible detail | Noir | The bag and the shoes, with no other print |
| Plain clothes with one layer of texture | Side-Stripe in Army Green with the Luna top | The jewelry: one bracelet is enough over the crochet |
| One piece that handles the whole day | Alma in Apricot | The accessories: one woven texture as the lead is enough |
The accessories in the images are styling suggestions. The shopping links go to the garments; bags, shoes and jewelry aren’t included.
How to keep your look from feeling overloaded
Before you leave, work out what you see first. If your attention jumps between the embroidery, a large necklace, a belt and the bag, try taking one piece off and look at the whole outfit again.
Check the volume too. A loose top and wide trousers can work together when the length, the hems and the accessories let the silhouette read. The fix doesn’t have to be cinching the waist: sometimes changing the bag or adjusting the trouser length is enough.
And think about your actual plan. To walk, you need shoes you can wear for that whole route; to carry your things, a bag with enough room. Those details are what make an outfit repeatable.
Your boho buying filter
Before you add bohemian clothing to your closet, answer five questions:
- What draws me to this piece? Identify texture, movement, embroidery or color, rather than buying for the “boho” label alone.
- Can I wear it with something I already own? Picture at least two uses, including the pieces separately if it’s a set.
- Does the product page confirm what I need to know? Check the composition, the measurements and the care; ask for details if the photographs don’t answer your questions.
- Does the fit work when I move? Check bust, waist, hip and length, especially on pieces described as non-stretch.
- Would I wear it in a plan this week? Pick a specific occasion before you decide.
You can start with a single element: the embroidered contrast of Noir, the side embroidery of the Side-Stripe or the crochet of Alma. A purchase makes more sense when you know how you’ll wear it.
